For over 25 years, I’ve been helping people choose better food, move a little more, and take some time to just breathe. But I started doing things differently a few years ago.

My approach changed when one of my dear friends decided she wasn’t good enough to keep living on this earth. She couldn’t find enough forgiveness in her heart to overcome the mistakes she had made.

It was heartbreaking: of course she was good enough, and of course mistakes can be forgiven.

This is when I realized:

The biggest challenge in living a healthy and happy life is unraveling the lies we tell ourselves about our mistakes and failures.

As a gymnast, a cheerleader, and a personal trainer, I’d been telling myself I wasn’t allowed to get fat: this had been my lie.

So instead of beating myself up about the “bad” and “wrong” decisions I’d made, I learned to forgive myself. I learned to love the person that I was, beyond the athletic identity I had created.

I now create a safe place for my clients to acknowledge and accept their failures.

When you forgive yourself, you can move on and live a healthier, happier life.

A little more about me

  • My happy place is anywhere there is water: oceans, rivers, and lakes.
  • On the weekends, you’ll usually find our family on a softball, soccer, or baseball field.
  • Working on a cruise ship in my early 20s put the traveling bug in my soul. Next on my bucket list: Alaska.
  • I love physical challenges and recently hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim.
  • In the afternoon you might find me taking a power nap with my dog Zoe.
